US comedian Andy Dick has been arrested on drug and sexual battery charges in California.

The 42-year-old, who starred in Road Trip and Old School, reportedly pulled down a 17-year-old girl's top outside a bar in Murieta, California.

Police said Dick was "extremely intoxicated at the time of his arrest" which occurred at 01:13 local time (09:13 BST) on Wednesday.

Officers had been called to reports of a disturbance involving a man urinating outside the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant some 60 miles southeast of Los Angeles.

And after the alleged victim and witnesses identified Dick in a "curbside lineup" he was taken to the Southwest Detention Center in nearby French Valley.

"Dick walked up to the 17-year-old female victim, grabbed her tank top and bra and pulled them down and exposed her breasts," a police statement said.

"Marijuana and Xanax were found in Andy Dick's pants pockets."

He was booked at 04:30 local time (12:30 BST) on felony possession of narcotics, misdemeanour possession of marijuana and misdemeanour sexual battery.

He posted a $5,000 (£2,500) bail and is to appear in court on August 12th.
