Angelina Jolie's new children Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline are "so cute", according to the doctor who delivered them.
The twins were born at the Lenval hospital in Nice, France, on Saturday with Jolie's partner Brad Pitt by her side.
And despite a media frenzy surrounding the birth - picture agencies are rumoured to be in the midst of a bidding war for the rights to official photographs of the twins, with some commentators predicting a £10 million fee for the snaps - the babies' arrival into the world was smooth, says Jolie's obstetrician, Dr Michael Sussmann.
"It was not an easy operation," he admitted. "A second caesarean with twins is difficult - but it went perfectly and they are so cute."
He added: "The delivery was very emotional and exceptional as Ms Jolie is a superstar. Jolie and Pitt were always laughing and having a good time together, even during the birth operation.
"We had an excellent rapport. She isso, so nice and never complained about anything."
Jolie and partner Pitt were already parents to four children together: adopted children Maddox, six, four-year-old Pax Thien and Zahara, three, as well as biological daughter Shiloh, 21 months.
