Bradford Bulls forward Glenn Morrison has signed a one-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until at least the end of the 2009 season.

The 31-year-old Australian, who arrived at Odsal from NRL side Parramatta Eels at the beginning of the 2007 season, has been a big hit at the club, scoring 16 tries in 37 appearances.

Morrison has been made vice-captain under Paul Deacon this season and has revelled in the role, which was particularly important given the injury-enforced absences of several other top stars at Bradford this season.

And speaking about his new contract, Morrison hinted he would be happy to see out his playing days - at least in Super League - with the Bulls.

"I'm happy here, it's a great club and I think [head coach] Steve McNamara's on the right path, getting us going in the right direction," he said.

"I want to be a part of that and hopefully lift some silverware before I'm done."

Morrison said he had moved to the English league at the time he did in order to have an impact on the game.

"When I came over here I didn't want to be on my last legs," he continued.

"I wanted to be playing good footy and hopefully earn that third year. I've done that and I'm delighted and it's great that I'll be with Bradford for another season.

"Now I want to accomplish things and get to finals. I'm really enjoying myself and love playing under Macca, while the boys here are great."

Bulls coach McNamara said he is "absolutely delighted" to have agreed a new deal with Morrison.

"Glenn has been first class, both on and off the field, since the day he arrived and I am delighted he will be with us next year," he added.

"He is the consummate professional and he is vitally important to the team and how we play."
