Former Canberra Raiders scrum-half Michael Dobson is in line to join Hull KR on a two-year contract later this month.
The 21-year-old, who is regarded as one of the game's up-and-coming stars, has opted for Craven Park above a number of other possible Super League destinations, according to reports.
Dobson has signed a deal committing him to Rovers until at least the end of the 2010 Super League season and he will play in the second half of this year when he arrives at the club towards the end of May.
"I am really excited about returning to the Super League," said Dobson, who had spells with Catalans Dragons and Wigan Warriors in 2006.
"I'm looking forward to joining Hull KR and playing first-grade footy on a regular basis.
"It's great to be joining a side with such talent and ability; it's a new adventure for me that I can't wait to begin."
Hull KR head coach Justin Morgan said he is looking forward to the arrival of Dobson, who he describes as a "consistent [and] very influential player".
"The club is happy to be able to attract a player with such ability, I'm looking forward to the impact that he will have here," Morgan added.
Dobson's past experience has set high expectations for his first season with Rovers.
In 2006 while with the Warriors and the Dragons, Dobson's kicking success rate was 84 per cent the highest of any regular rugby league kicker in the world.
